Jackson Office Design Receives Awards for Excellence and Sustainable Design by IIDA
Forman Watkins & Krutz is honored to receive two awards from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) for our complete renovation of the top three floors of the Regions building in downtown Jackson. The IIDA supports design professionals, industry affiliates, educators, students, firms and their clients through a network of 15,000+ members across 58 countries.
FormanWatkins received the Award of Recognition in the Large Corporate category for Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. The competition celebrates outstanding examples of design excellence in commercial spaces.
The Firm was also honored to receive the Sustainable Design award from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), which recognizes offices that take their simple yet powerful motto of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to a broader level of deployment through design thinking. The USGBC jury "was delighted to see the use of renewable and reclaimed materials throughout the project from reclaimed timber to thoughtful renewable flooring materials,” and “loved the way design elements intentionally integrated natural daylight and helped to define zones of transparency between the public and private zones of the office."

To do this, we took the University Club, a venerable but formal Jackson landmark, and transformed it into our new home by opening up and connecting the spaces, joining the top two floors with a floating staircase, incorporating recycled and reused materials throughout, and integrating technology in ways that are beneficial without being ostentatious. Winning these awards lets us know we hit the mark.” We are extremely proud of these awards because they recognize the thoughtfulness and hard work that were put in by the FormanWatkins team and the design professionals at Wier Boerner Allin Architecture and Ferriss & Company.
