No Pay Day For The Plaintiff Who Drove the Wrong Way

Malissa Wilson recently achieved a unanimous defense verdict in Hinds County (MS) Circuit Court. The case, Calvin Martin v. Wesley Biblical Seminary, involved allegations that an employee of the Seminary backed into the plaintiff, who was working security and driving a golf cart, in a restaurant parking lot.  The plaintiff sought more than $350,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.  After considering evidence that the plaintiff caused the accident when he drove the wrong way in a one-way parking lot, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the defendant.
