Alison O’Neal McMinn Recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as a Top 50 Under 40 Business Leader

Forman Watkins Partner, Alison O’Neal McMinn, was recently selected as one of Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 50 Under 40 for 2017.  This recognition is one of Mississippi’s most prestigious awards and 2017 brings about its 24th consecutive year.  Top 50 Under 40 recognizes the state’s 50 up-and-coming business leaders under the age of 40.  The key to the program’s success is that individuals are nominated by friends or business associates who best know their professional and civic involvement.

Prior to joining Forman Watkins, Alison served as Special Assistant Attorney General in both the Civil Litigation and Consumer Protection Divisions where she was lead defense attorney in numerous suits against the State of Mississippi, its agencies, political subdivisions, and officials. Before then, Alison was as an Associate in our Jackson office where she managed a docket of 727 asbestos products liability cases with complex discovery and motion practice, and was also a member of the trial team for six asbestos product liability trials.  Following law school, Alison clerked for Judge Leslie D. King at the Mississippi Court of Appeals.

Alison graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Arts and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi.  She has been recognized as a Mid-South Rising Star® in Personal Injury Defense and served as co-chair of both the Diversity and Membership Committees for the Jackson Young Lawyer’s Division.
