Important Litigation Involvement

  • Andre Wilson v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc, et al., No. 21-CV-092 (Miss. 2023), which granted summary judgment in favor of Defendant in relation to Plaintiff’s personal injury claim in Mississippi’s 10th Circuit Court District.
  • Kenyada Brooks v. Wal-Mart Associates, Inc., et al., No. 3:20-cv-321 – Doc. Nos. 26 & 27 (N.D. Miss. 2021), in which the case was dismissed based on FRP 12(b)(6) for Plaintiff’s failure to state a claim.
  • Salvador Parra vs. Babcock Power Services, Inc. et al., No. 2009-42-cv-5 (Miss. 2021), which granted motion for dismissal due to lack of prosecution, and the case was dismissed with prejudice.
  • Jerry Pryor vs. Union Pacific Railroad Company and Arkansas Midland Railroad Company, No. 4:19-cv-00233-JM (E.D. AR 2020), which granted summary judgment on behalf of a railroad company in a case where the Plaintiff alleged he contracted bladder cancer and leukemia resulting from his workplace exposure to cancer-causing substances.
  • Charles Stroud v. Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, No. 1:18-CV-110 – Doc. 77 (S.D. Miss. 2019), which granted summary judgment in favor of the Defendant in a wrongful death case. Judgment of the District Court was affirmed by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on January 17, 2020.
  • Charm Kosin v. Union Pacific Railroad Company, No. 4:17-cv-02435 – Doc. 126 (E.D. MO 2019), in which the Court granted summary judgment in favor of the Defendant based on Defendant’s argument that Plaintiff filed her lawsuit after the expiration of the applicable statute of limitations.
  • Carolyn Bratton v. Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, No. 3:16-CV-784 – Doc. 45 (S.D. Miss. 2018), which granted summary judgment in favor of the Defendant in a slip and fall case.
  • Phillips v. Wal-Mart Stores East LP, No. 5:2014cv00035 (S.D. Miss. 2015), Court granted summary judgment in favor of Defendant in wrongful death case.
  • Gorman-Rupp v. Bobby Hall, 908 So. 2d 749 (Miss. 2005), which adopted Lohrmann as the standard for summary judgment for Mississippi asbestos cases.
