FormanWatkins is a Proud Funding Supporter of the 2019 Mississippi Book Festival

Forman Watkins & Krutz LLP is a proud funding supporter of the 2019 Mississippi Book Festival. The literary lawn party, as the Festival has been known since birth, is Saturday, August 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the charming grounds of the Mississippi State Capitol, nearby Galloway United Methodist Church, and surrounding streets.

The Festival has built a sterling reputation since its 2015 debut on the State Capitol grounds, and 2019 looks like another can’t-put-down sequel! Richard Ford, Joyce Carol Oates, Angie Thomas, Candace Bushnell, Karl Marlantes, and many more will be on hand with conversation, stories, and insights on a wide range of intriguing topics. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is also a very special guest for the 2019 festival! Justice Sotomayor has a panel at 10:45 a.m. at Galloway Sanctuary followed by a book signing in the Galloway Parlor at noon.

Last year, the Festival pulled more than 7,600 attendees to downtown Jackson to celebrate the written word and the great conversations it spurs in a fun, lively atmosphere of exchange. With 150+ authors, 40+ panels, food trucks, music, and thousands of books, the daylong event is an enlightening experience for all who come.

"Mississippi has such a rich literary history, and we could not be prouder to support this great event in downtown Jackson."  - Jackson partner, Trey Watkins

We encourage everyone to attend this wonderful downtown Jackson event and enjoy the talent and community the Festival offers for our great capitol city!
