Kapoor Selected to Receive MS Bar Foundation’s 2022 Law-Related Public Education Award
FormanWatkins is proud to share that Sampada (Sam) Kapoor was selected to receive the Mississippi Bar Foundation's 2022 Law-Related Public Education Award, in recognition of her dedication to enhancing the public's understanding of the law and the legal system! Sam will be announced as the award winner and recognized during the Mississippi Bar Foundation's Annual Meeting to be held virtually on April 14, 2022. She will then be honored and presented with the award at the Bar Foundation's event held in conjunction with the 2022 Bar Convention, July 11-15, in Sandestin, Florida.
Sam is an associate in our Jackson office. She graduated cum laude from The University of Mississippi with a degree in International Studies, and she received her law degree cum laude from The University of Mississippi School of Law in 2017. In addition to practicing as an attorney, Sam taught legal research and writing at the law school as an adjunct professor from 2018 to 2020. Through this role and through her volunteer work and community involvement with various organizations such as the UM Diversity Council, Jackson Young Lawyers, and the Mississippi Bar's Young Lawyers Division, she has been able to foster mentorship relationships with young attorneys, particularly first generation attorneys of color. Sam was previously selected to the Mississippi Business Law Journal's 2019 Leadership in Law class and has been named a Mid-South Rising Star since 2020.
