Summer Associate Program
Our Summer Associate Program is our primary method of hiring entry level attorneys. Currently, we provide summer clerk opportunities only in our Jackson and New Orleans offices. The program is designed to provide each summer associate with an opportunity to experience Forman Watkins & Krutz's unique practice and culture. It also allows us to get to know each associate by working directly with her/him on a daily basis to allow us to see and understand the work, attitude, enthusiasm, personality, and judgment of each clerk.
Our goal is to involve summer associates in many areas of practice and to expose them to the day-to-day aspects of our legal practice. Summer associates typically have the opportunity to attend hearings and depositions, draft memoranda, motions, and pleadings, as well as attend conference calls, mediation, and trials. Each summer associate can count on his or her mentors to provide guidance and insight throughout the summer experience.
We also are proud of the communities in which we live and practice law. An integral part of our program is providing social opportunities to permit our summer associates to get to know us and our families outside of the office and to know the community. Our summer associates are invited to formal and informal dinners, happy hours, family night at a local sporting event, competitive games, and other events throughout the summer.
While we typically conduct on-campus interviews of first and second year law students at certain regional law schools, we also consider resumes from candidates across the country. However, for those candidates outside our on-campus interview program, we only accept resumes via email by February 15 for 1L candidates and September 10 for 2L candidates. If you are interested in applying for the summer associate program, please send your resume, transcript, and cover letter to Mandi Murphy.
