Will Brand is a strategic and driven litigator who represents both plaintiffs and defendants in high stakes matters in state and federal courts across the country. Will’s prior experience as a teacher helps him break down complex legal arguments for trial and appellate courts, resulting in positive outcomes for his clients.
Before joining FormanWatkins, Will served as a law clerk to the Honorable Cory T. Wilson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and to the Honorable Kristi H. Johnson of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. His experience as a law clerk helped further sharpen his research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Since starting at the firm, Will has worked on complex contractual cases, employment disputes, environmental cases, product liability cases, mass tort, and consumer protection cases, among other matters. He has argued dispositive motions and appeals in state and federal courts across the country.
In addition to his primary practice, Will is dedicated to ensuring equal access to justice through his pro bono practice. Most recently, he argued a criminal appeal before the Mississippi Court of Appeals. He has also worked on education and immigration matters.

• Led motion practice resulting in early dismissal for clients in employment dispute in federal court
• Drafted motion to dismiss based on discovery violations, securing full dismissal of plaintiffs’ claims with prejudice in environmental matter
• Drafted motion for summary judgment, leading to full dismissal of co-defendants’ cross-claim in environmental matter
• Drafted and successfully argued Rule 59(e) motion, convincing the court to reverse its prior ruling and reinstate plaintiff’s case in education matter
