Folsom, Huskey, and LeFeve Promoted to Partner
FormanWatkins is excited to announce that Jean Folsom, Ruth Huskey, and McCann LeFeve have been promoted to Partner!
Jean M. Folsom joined the firm approximately four years ago, after previously working at a large global law firm in Washington, DC. She has a multitude of experience on both the plaintiff and defense side of business tort litigation, having prosecuted and defended theft of trade secret claims in multiple jurisdictions, breach of noncompete agreements, and a variety of traditional contract actions. In addition, Ms. Folsom is heavily involved in toxic tort and asbestos litigation. Jean graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, cum laude, and earned her law degree from William & Mary Law School. She is licensed in Virginia, Mississippi, and the District of Columbia, and regularly is involved in litigation in various state and federal jurisdictions across the country. Ms. Folsom has been selected a Mid-South Rising Star and for Best Lawyers in America Ones to Watch. She is an active member of the Firm's Technology and Recruiting Committees. Jean is currently a Board Member of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and works out of the Jackson office.
Ruth M. Huskey joined the firm in 2013, bringing with her the experience of working in various sectors and with individuals from diverse backgrounds. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, cum laude, with a degree in International Studies and Spanish, Ruth received a Master of Education degree from The University of Mississippi while teaching with the Mississippi Teacher Corps in the Mississippi Delta, and, later, a Master of Spanish while working for the University's international exchange and study abroad programs. Ruth earned her law degree from Regent University, cum laude, where she served as a managing editor for Law Review. Ruth works in the Jackson office and focuses her work on premises and products liability litigation and serves as national coordinating counsel for asbestos claims for a Fortune 500 Company. Ruth also volunteers with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Blazer Bolt for Brain Cancer. Ruth is licensed in Virginia, Mississippi, and the District of Columbia, and she has been selected a Mid-South Rising Star and for Best Lawyers in America Ones to Watch.
McCann LeFeve, a Mississippi Gulf Coast native who joined the firm in 2018, brings to the table over ten years of experience in a wide variety of legal disciplines. She graduated cum laude from Tulane University with degrees in English, Communications, and French, and received her law degree magna cum laude from The University of Mississippi School of Law. While in law school, she served as an associate editor for the Mississippi Law Journal and was later appointed to the executive board as its Business Manager. After winning the First Year Appellate Competition, she also became an active Moot Court Board member and served as the Editor-in-Chief of its student written publication, Mississippi Review of First Impressions, for which she was honored as the Moot Court Member of the Year. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the Order of Barristers for outstanding service to her school and served as a law clerk to Chief Judge S. Thomas Anderson in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. As a practicing attorney, McCann has worked on both sides of the bar and has extensive experience in toxic tort, premise and product’s liability, workers’ compensation and employment law, commercial contract, property and casualty insurance, and personal injury. She also serves on the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is a Louisiana Rising Stars and Best Lawyer's Ones to Watch honoree. McCann is licensed to practice in Louisiana and Mississippi, and works out of the Firm's New Orleans office.
