Vickie R. Thompson has twenty years of litigation experience. Her docket is primarily the defense of personal injury actions, including toxic tort, premises liability, vehicular collision, railroad crossing accident and Jones Act claims. Ms. Thompson also has significant experience in commercial, contract and employment matters.
- Counsel for major oil companies in various individual suits alleging personal injury, death and property damage in connection with refinery accidents and operations
- Successfully resolved mass tort claims involving 1800 plaintiffs
- Participated in first summary trial in history of Jefferson County, Texas in a multi-million dollar commercial action
- Represented numerous corporations in employment and contract disputes
- Represented petrochemical companies in suits in which claimants allege plant site exposure to benzene and other chemicals by construction and maintenance employees
- Developed a medical screening process in asbestos cases which revealed fraudulent medical exams resulting in dismissal of claims
- Counsel for product manufacturers and suppliers in asbestos lawsuits
- Counsel for construction contractors in toxic tort lawsuit involving hundreds of workers at a steel mill
- Represents several premises defendants statewide in asbestos litigation
- Co-counsel for doctor in disputes over operations and management of medical center
- Handle Will disputes for both sponsors and contestants.
