We are excited to announce that phase 2 construction of our Jackson office is officially underway!  This phase will integrate the remainder of the 21st floor of the Regions building (which, until December of 2018, held another occupant) into the current FormanWatkins space, providing us with an additional 4500 square feet of space to accommodate our inevitable growth. The new section will continue the same open, unified workspace that is found throughout the rest of our Jackson office.  Below are some initial construction pictures. 

FormanWatkins is proud to announce that Nick Giallourakis and Alison McMinn have been selected by the Mississippi Business Journal as part of the 2018 Leadership in Law class. Each year the Mississippi Business Journal recognizes a select group of 40 attorneys who exhibit both the legal success and the qualities of character that exemplify this honor. A reception and awards celebration was held in December to recognize the 2018 honorees.

Win Gault and Jake Banks recently finished an arbitration of a claim brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”).  The arbitrator is expected to rule in February.  Win and Jake have multiple TCPA arbitrations scheduled next year throughout four states…

November 2018: FormanWatkins successfully argued the appeal on behalf of an indigent prisoner seeking medical care. 

Forman Watkins & Krutz is honored to receive two awards for our Jackson office space and design in the International Interior Design Association’s 2018 IDEA Competition . We received the Sustainable Design award by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC): Forman Watkins & Krutz Law Office project by Wier Boerner Allin Architecture – the jury was delighted to see the use of renewable and reclaimed materials throughout the project from reclaimed timber to thoughtful renewable flooring materials. They also loved the way design elements intentionally integrated natural daylight and helped to define zones of transparency between the public and private zones of the office.” The Firm also received an Excellence Award in in the Corporate – Large 7,500+ sq ft category.

The Capital Area Bar Association (CABA) recently held their annual Evening Honoring the Judiciary at the Country Club of Jackson. The dinner not only hosts a keynote speaker but also serves as an opportunity for CABA and Jackson Young Lawyers (JYL) to present their annual awards for outstanding service, pro bono and professionalism. Forman Watkins is extremely proud to have one of its very own presented with the 2017 JYL Pro Bono Service Award, congratulations to Partner Vernon McFarland for this wonderful recognition. Vernon serves on the Firm’s Pro Bono Committee where he shows daily commitment to the growth and expansion of Pro Bono efforts in the Firm and our local communities.
